IT WILL BE HEAVEN WHEN I SEE HIM AGAIN
For me be happy, do not be sad or weep,
For in this dark life I have just gone to sleep.
When I open my eyes I feel no anger, bitterness or hate.
There in the distance I see him standing tall at the golden gates.
His beautiful eyes, sparkling with joy and deep cornflower blue,
Here is my boy, am I dreaming or can this really be true?
Towards me he starts to confidently stride,
My heart is filled with such overwhelming pride.
With his cheeky smile and hair the colour of sand,
My Mattie reaches out to me and takes my hand.
‘Mum never again will you ever feel so sad and alone,
Because mum, you are here, you have now come home’.
He said ‘I’ve tried to visit you in your dreams every night,
I have really wanted you to know that I have been alright.
I wanted you to know that I was always here,
I wanted you to know that I was always near’.
‘All of us here try to send signs to those we love,
Vivid butterflies, robins, white feathers and doves.
This is a place where only good people go,
Where all the bad people go, I do not know’.
He opens his arms and I hold him very tight,
Never again will I let him out of my sight.
‘Mum please let me wipe the tears from your face,
And come with me now and see this heavenly place’.
Holding his hand I see unicorns prancing,
Children so happily laughing and dancing.
This is where so many loved ones throng,
The air is filled with their joyous song.
I see emerald, leaf laden trees,
Ladybirds and many honey bees.
White snow-capped mountains against a cloudless sky.
Where wide eyed owls and other birds freely fly.
Here there are rainbows, but no tears of rain.
Here there is no heartache, sorrow or pain.
Rich hedgerows full of ripened blackberries,
Apple trees, strawberries and raspberries.
Here in this place there is no darkness, only light.
In this place the warm sun shimmers and shines so bright.
Here there are waterfalls and glistening, gurgling streams.
There are no nightmares here, only contented dreams.
Where there are fairytale castles rising so bold,
Against the crimson sunset, a sight to behold.
Rich bright green fields, daisies and pretty bluebells.
Lillies, roses, forget-me-nots, such wonderful smells.
Where kittens, puppies and ‘bobbits’ roam free,
Soft white beaches and endless green seas.
Where dewdrops on grass sparkle in the morn,
Where happiness and joy rise with each dawn.
Oh for this happy day I so long,
To be with my boy where I belong.
But for now I must put on my ‘mask’ and pretend to be ok,
And silently think of my boy every moment of each day.
But I know,
It will be heaven when I see him again
